Welcome to the Workplace Health Partnership Website.
Workplace Health Promotion (WHP) is best
understood as the combined efforts of employers, employees
and society to improve the health and well being of
people at work. (Luxembourg Declaration 1997).
This means that any initiatives to improve workers health must take a broad approach,
focusing on the work environment, the organisation along with individual issues.
Also, effective WHP needs an inter-disciplinary approach involving all players
involved in workplace health (Luxembourg Declaration 1997).
This Partnership approach was adopted in December 2001, by the Occupational Health
Nurses Association of Ireland, the Health & Safety Authority and the Health
Promotion Services of the West and North West Health Boards.
Our mission is to work together providing support to employers, employees and
organisations to protect and enhance the health and well being of people at work.
